The County Fair is just around the corner. Please see the attached schedule. There are a lot of opportunities for entries into our county fair. If your child has crafts, garden vegetables or has canned goods, it is all eligible. Let’s show off their work!
On August 20th there is a Poultry and Rabbit workshop, this will include discussions, raising the animals and showing. These are great ways to let your kids be involved with showing and agriculture without large financial commitment. I would encourage anyone interested to attend. There is still time to get a bird and have it ready to show at the county fair.
Shooting Sports - There will be more communication in the coming weeks. If your child is in 4th grade or above and interested in shooting sports, I would recommend getting started on your online hunter safety course asap. This not a quick process, especially for younger students. It is required for them to be able to shoot in both 4-H and our schools shooting sports program.
These are just a few of the things your child can participate in this fall with 4-H. You can find more information on the Haskell County OSU extension Facebook page. Please let me know if you have any questions, I will be happy to try to help you find the answer.
