The McCurtain Academic Team is celebrating a strong performance at the Regional Tournament on November 15th, earning a third-place finish and a berth to the Area Tournament scheduled for January 17, 2026.
McCurtain opened the day with a 170–100 victory over Smithville. In their second match, McCurtain narrowly fell to Haileyville 160–170 in a tightly contested round.
Refusing to let the setback discourage them, the team rebounded with two dominant wins. They defeated Moyer 250–80 and followed with another commanding performance against Pittsburg, winning 210–50. These wins secured McCurtain’s place in the upcoming Area Tournament.
The team now looks ahead to January, where they hope to continue their momentum and advance to the State tournament for a third straight year.
